Mazal Tov – A Child is Born

Mazal Tov – A Child is Born   Capturing the awe of the birth of your child (boy and  girl!)

The joy that a birth of a child brings to the family is observed by many cultures – Judaism included – as a life cycle celebration. One of the oldest Jewish ceremonies of this type is the Brit Mila ceremony for a newborn boy, normally celebrated on the eighth day after his birth.  A more modest ceremony was created more recently by Jewish women for a newborn baby girl.

Both ceremonies are observed within Reform communities in many varied ways, which allow the parents’ involvement in the planning and shaping of the celebration. In addition, family members are encouraged to participate and take ownership of the event.

The Rabbinic staff of Beit Samueli is on call to assist everyone on this special occasion, both in the planning stage and at the time of the event.

It is possible to celebrate this occasion at Beit Samueli.
